2025 WA Aquatic Recreation Industry Awards
The WA Aquatic & Recreation Industry Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals, teams, and facilities across our sector. These prestigious awards recognise excellence in facility management, safety, programming, and innovation—honouring those making a lasting impact on aquatics and recreation in Western Australia. We’re delighted to welcome back 6PR broadcaster and journalist Simon Beaumont, returning for his third year as host of this inspiring event. Join us for a night of celebration and connection on Thursday, 7 August, from 6:30pm in the BelleVue Ballroom at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Facility of the Year
New Category!
Facilities that demonstrate innovation in design, development, and/or operation, making a significant impact on their communities were invited to apply for the prestigious Facility of the Year Award. This Award is open to both new facilities and existing facilities across WA. In 2025 there were nine (9) outstanding facilities nominated for the inaugural award. Aquatic Facility Safety Award
This award recognises demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of aquatic health and safety outcomes through the creation and continuation of an outstanding safety culture. In 2025, five (5) facilities rose to this challenge, setting new benchmarks for excellence in safety practices, staff training, and community engagement. Aquatic Technical Operator of the Year
Acknowledging individuals who excel in facility operations, this category celebrates outstanding leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to exceptional customer service and safety in roles such as Duty Manager, Supervisor, or Aquatic Technical Operator. Seven (7) exceptional operators were nominated by their organisations from across WA to be considered for this prestigious award—each one going above and beyond in their daily roles to ensure safe, efficient, and welcoming aquatic environments. Their dedication reflects the vital role operational staff play in the success and reputation of our industry.

Sustainability Award
This award recognises excellence in the performance of sustainability practices in the built environment, relating to the management and incremental improvement of energy and resource management and operational practices. From waste reduction to energy efficiency and water conservation, three (3) facilities have truly stood out in 2025—demonstrating leadership and innovation in creating more sustainable and environmentally responsible aquatic and recreation spaces. This award celebrates excellence in achieving the objectives of the Watch Around Water program, which focuses on promoting water safety for young children. It acknowledges facilities or individuals who effectively implement and uphold the program’s key principles, ensuring a safe and supervised aquatic environment. In 2025, eight (8) facilities are vying for this honour, each demonstrating a strong commitment to child safety through innovative practices, staff training, and community education initiatives.
